This is the brand new, handmade leather sketchbook by W.L. Swarts. Unfortunately, while I learn to make sketchbooks, there are occasionally defects and this one is one of them. Less than perfect, by far, this has been nicknamed "The Trainwreck." This sketchbook was made using a new (to me) leather that did not stretch as much as it ought to have. So, while the book has a fairly decent spine, the covers do not quite fit the text block and they are slightly lopsided. Also, as we noted when taking the pictures, the cover also seems to be warping some (which will likely be easily fixed by compressing it, as on a bookshelf). The text block is decent, though there is some wear in the corners because the cover is lopsided. As well, about 1/4" of the text block is exposed and the spine does not have the usual indent which illustrates where the book properly opens.

This handmade leather sketchbook contains approximately 100 pages of paper and the text block (each page) is 8" tall by 5" wide. Despite being lopsided, this book is approximately 8 3/4" X 6". Truly the worst we'd ever let see the light of day, this is a great way to get a handmade sketchbook dirt cheap!
